Mt. Kilimanjaro taken from Amboseli N.P. The elephants in Amboseli were less hostile in comparison with the Tsavo heatherlumps; one bull decided to charge for our jeep in what was a very close encounter!
Lake Nakuru. Taken from a picnic spot where our spicy lunch was smelt from beneath the cliff face by a crafty baboon. Considering baboons are on average ten times stronger than humans (and ten times more aggressive), our brave friend suprised us by having a tug of war with the greedy tree hugger; the rest of our party just ran to hide! Even more suprising was the sight of Roshan emerging unharmed and clutching a quarter of the original quantity of samosas! Crazily enough, in my first week back at school I met Tim Spoerer who had had his lunch stolen at exactly the same picnic spot a year earlier!
The Samburu Tribe welcome us before guiding us around their village. Lodging was in the form of mud huts and goat was the only meal of the day. Approximately 25-30 children attended a small school, where we were invited to give them a quick maths lesson!
The flamingo infested Lake Bogoria, which includes hot springs on the banks.
